The point of this drink is to load it with different strains of bacteria, which happens when you add various ingredients to the ferment. Traditional rejuvelac, made from just wheat berries and water is not to everyone’s liking. Adding coconut water and fruits, improves the flavour. Pineapple is rich in and enzyme called bromelain and papaya is rich in and enzyme called papain. Tumeric and ginger have a miriad of beneficial qualities. I use it for ferments, especially to stop bad bacteria from forming. Fermented drinks with tumeric and ginger are always nice and clean and you can just keep on topping them up over and over again to make further batches of the drink. It is best drank 30 minutes before eating as they will help with the digestion of food. Fermented drinks are also an excellent choice to have if you are practicing intermittent fasting. They are very satiating so you can go on without food for longer.
